Los Gatos del Parque Kennedy
Desde hace 20 años decenas de gatos de todos los colores han hecho su hogar en parque central (conformado por los parques Kennedy, 7 de Junio y Raúl Porras) del que posiblemente es el posiblemente el distrito mas cosmopolita de la ciudad de Lima, Miraflores.
Se dice que empezaron a llegar por que los vecinos los dejaban ahí para cazar ratas, pero lo cierto es que con el paso de los años la gente fue abandonando más y más gatitos hasta que la gran población de felinos se volvió parte del parque.
Hace un par de unos años se contaban mas de 200 y hoy gracias a los esfuerzos de la gente amorosa y ONGs se ha logrado la adopción de una gran cantidad hasta llegar a la población actual de 90 Gatos.
For 20 years dozens of cats have lived in the central park (formed by the parks Kennedy, 7 de Junio and Raúl Porras) of the most cosmopolitan district of Lima, Miraflores.
As the story goes the neighbors started leaving cats in the park to hunt down rats, but the true is that as time passed more people abandoned more and more cats until the felines became part of the park and no one really knew how they got there.
A couple of years ago there were more than 200 animals, today thanks to the efforts of kind people and ONGs, great numbers of responsible adoptions had been achieve, still almost 90 cats remain in the park.
